The final score of 11 - 4 to Lincolnshire saw them take 2nd place in the league and Norfolk in familiar territory at the bottom.

The season has seen Norfolk perform well in the foursomes aspect of the matches, beating 3 of the four other Counties. However, they have only been able to take 15 of the 40 points available in the singles games.

The Seniors next outing is at the Bedfordshire GC on 4th July in the South East Foursomes.

Dry clothing adorned the afternoon singles went out in heavy rain, after an early Norfolk win from Richard Oakes, Cambridge convincingly won the next 4 games. However the Norfolk tail wagged and wins for Adrian Myhill, Mark Skipper, and Paul Robson together with a battling half from Ian Hogg were enough for Norfolk to draw the Match and secure their first League point for two seasons.

County Seniors

Match v Suffolk

On 30th May the County Seniors travelled to Rushmere GC to play Suffolk in their first League match of the year. The back pairs of Adrian Myhill with Mark Skipper and Rob Webb with Roger Finney won 1up and 2 &1 respectively, meaning at lunch the game was all square.

Second out in the afternoon singles Alistair Pykett had an excellent 3 & 2 victory and the ever dependable David Pattrick going out fourth secured another half. Sadly the only other player to taste success in the singles was Rob Webb who played some fine golf to beat the Suffolk Captain 2 & 1.

Despite a disappointing 10 - 5 defeat, most of the games were close fought and the team left in good spirits looking forward to the challenge of Cambridgeshire at Swaffham GC on 10th June
