Title-seeking Norfolk Seniors triumph in Lincs
Norfolk remain on course for a final-day-of-the-season shot at the East Anglian Senior League title after a stunning success in Lincolnshire.

Two years after they suffered a crushing 1-14 loss in Lincolnshire, Norfolk Seniors returned to the county and triumphed 10.5 to 4.5 points at Sleaford Golf Club.
The victory means non-playing captain Gary Brayshaw’s side remain undefeated this season ahead of their final league fixture at home to Cambridgeshire at Thetford Golf Club on August 20.
Suffolk, who hold a slender lead at the top of the table, also have one game to play – hosting Lincolnshire at Stowmarket on August 17.
That Norfolk remain firmly in the race to be crowned champions is down to their latest performance in Lincolnshire.
The morning foursomes saw the visitors sweep into a 4-1 lead before Lincs hit back strongly, winning each of the first three singles ties.
But Norfolk had all the moves covered, piling up the points across the other seven matches on the course.
Iain Reid, Chris Lamb and Iain Yule all claimed their respective second victories of the day.
At the same time, John Shapland, Phil Scott and Jon Batten were busy closing out their own wins and Mark Butt followed up a foursomes success by claiming a half in his singles clash.
Brayshaw said: “The whole team performed really well, to a high standard – it was a great win.
“It was quite tight until the end. We’d lost the first three afternoon singles, so all of a sudden the match was all square. But the middle order and the tail end delivered.
“It was an all-round top performance and a thoroughly deserved win.”
