Congratulations to the overall winners in the season’s Order of Merit competition.

There were seven events throughout the summer, held at Wensum Valley, Eaton, Bawburgh, Swaffham, Royal Norwich, King’s Lynn and Middleton Hall where OOM points were available. These, when added to the results from the Norfolk County Amateur and Handicap events, gave us our final tables.

In the Scratch competition, it was CALLUM RANA (Eaton GC) who came out on top, mainly thanks to a win at Royal Norwich and second place at Bawburgh, just ahead of Sean Rafferty (Royal Norwich), whilst Jacob Jeary and Brandon Hobley (both of Bawburgh GC) where third and fourth respectively.

In the Handicap, KARL DIGGENS (Sprowston Manor GC) won the overall title thanks, in the main, to his victory in the County Handicap. Jacob Jeary’s consistent performances earned him second place in this competition, ahead of Steven Tidy (Sprowston Manor GC) and Lawrie Bedson (Bawburgh GC).

This weekend is the Norfolk Amateur Matchplay held, once again, at Heacham Manor GC. There will be sixteen players in each of the Scratch and Handicap knockout championships starting on Saturday morning and finishing with the finals on Sunday afternoon.
