Later this month we’ll be keeping a close eye on Sky Sports Golf’s coverage from the recent British Par-3 Championship to see if we can catch a glimpse or two of one of our own. 

Dereham’s Jake Gunby enjoyed a brilliant tournament at Nailcote Hall, excelling in front of the cameras and spectators. As well as top golfers such as Paul Lawrie and Ian Woosnam and leading amateur players, Jake found himself keeping company with several ex-football stars. 

It was quite the experience but Jake took it all in his stride to shoot one-over-par for 36 holes. That left him joint top in the amateur competition in which eventually he was just pipped in a play-off. 

But it was another memorable step forward for Jake, who also won the all-age qualifier for the right to tee up in the main event!
