Brandon Hobley clinched the scratch Order of Merit crown, edging Sean Rafferty at the end of an eight-event race.
The Bawburgh golfer tied for second place in the final tournament at Middleton Hall to leapfrog Rafferty in the standings.
Hobley ended up with an overall total of 280.84 points – just 1.34 clear of Royal Norwich man Rafferty, who shared sixth spot at Middleton Hall.
Ultra-consistent Hobley earned his pole-position finish after a season which included three second places and a third.
The handicap Order of Merit honours went to James Martin who came tied fourth at Middleton Hall after he had also secured victory in the previous event at Eaton.
The Dunston Hall golfer’s strong conclusion to the series left him on 195 points with Mundesley’s Richard Abbs claiming runner-up spot on 182.5.
More than 150 players entered at least one of the Order of Merit events during the season and Norfolk County Golf Union would like to thank all the venues for their support of the competition.
The leading players from the respective Order of Merit tables have been invited to play in the Matchplay finals on October 11-12 at Bawburgh Golf Club. Norfolk Amateur champion Ed Featherstone, Handicap Champion Charlie Green, Boys champion Sully Goddard, Boys handicap champion Luis King and last year’s two Matchplay winners – Matt Strudwick (scratch) and Luke Johnson (handicap) – have also been extended invites to play in the county’s traditional finale fixture.
Meanwhile, the series-closing event at Middleton Hall saw a scratch victory for Darren Abbs (Royal Norwich), thanks to a four-over-par 75. Martin Stanford landed top spot in the handicap division with a net 72.
