ENGLAND women’s international Nellie Ong gave a pre-Christmas masterclass to Norfolk County Golf Union’s rising stars at Eaton Golf Club.
Eaton member Ong, 19, spoke to the boys about life at Ohio State University before putting them through their paces on the putting green.
She then demonstrated her own skills on the golf course, playing a series of holes with each of three groups.
Ong offered an inspiring insight into what it takes to achieve at the highest level after a year in which she was part of the England team that finished tied-fourth at the World Amateur Team Championship.
She also starred as a member of Great Britain and Ireland women’s team that overcame their European counterparts in the Vagliano Trophy.
Ong said: “It was a lot of fun playing with Norfolk juniors. They were really enthusiastic and enjoyable to be around – and clearly have a lot of talent between them.
“Hopefully they can have a great season as individuals and as a team in 2026.”
A similar comment applies to Ong, who is hoping to play for Great Britain and Ireland against the USA in the Curtis Cup at Bel-Air Country Club, Los Angeles in June.
