Norfolk Seniors began their league campaign on Thursday, but were edged 6.5-8.5 by their Suffolk counterparts in a close match at Sheringham GC.
The morning foursomes were shared 2.5-2.5, but Suffolk began the afternoon singles in strong style, winning the first three games.
Mark Williamson and Jon Batten showed some spirit in the middle order and were both 2 from 2 on the day. Iain Yule also won both his matches and Mark Butt picked up 1.5 points.
But Suffolk ran out overall victors.
Norfolk’s next league match is away against Cambridgeshire at Girton GC on Monday, 16th June.
