Hats off to Norfolk Under-16s for a fine afternoon’s golf in their triangular league match with Hertfordshire and Suffolk at Royal Norwich GC.
Team manager Greg Caffyn’s team beat their Suffolk opponents 4.5-3.5 and fought out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Herts. Special mentions for Tibet Demirsoy (pictured), Louie Hawes and Toby Lewin (pictured) who all claimed two points each.
On Sunday, Norfolk men’s teams took on Suffolk. The 1st team had a difficult day, losing 1-11 at Halesworth GC.
The 2nds, fielding five players aged 18 or younger, showed great spirit but lost out 3.5-8.5 at Wensum Valley GC. Plenty of positives, including Quin Monaghan’s first singles win in men’s county golf. And how about this for a finish…Ed Dimambro closed out birdie, birdie, eagle to win one-up!
