Welcome to the Seniors section of the NCGU website.
We welcome golfers of 55 years of age or over, who are members of clubs affiliated to the NCGU and who have a single figure handicap.
Our fixtures run from March to October each year and details of this year’s matches can be found on the menu on the left. Most County Seniors matches are Match Play over 9 holes Foursomes in the morning followed by 18 holes Singles in the afternoon. All matches are played off scratch and there are normally 10 in a team.
At the start of a season there are several friendly matches before the season starts in earnest with league matches against other Counties in the Anglian League. Fixtures and results from the Anglian League can be found here:
https://www.midlandgolfunion.co.uk/2025_senior_fixtures_and_results
As members of the South East Group the 2 main fixtures are the Foursomes qualifying event and the 6 man team qualifier held over 2 days with the winning County going forward to the National Finals.
The Seniors County Championship is an 18-hole stroke play event. Entry is by using Golf Genius via the diary, home page or fixtures page.
Please contact Seniors’ Captain Gary Brayshaw if you have any questions, need any clarification or require any further assistance.
